The charming volcanic island of Ischia rises out of the brilliant blue waters of Bay of Naples and is perfect for a day trip from Naples. Known for thermal baths, beautiful beaches, and delicious food, touring around the island is like being in a pretty picture postcard. Hike Monte Epomeo or walk the copious steps to Aragonese Castle for a little exercise before dining on a plate of Coniglio all’ischitana (rabbit stew) with a glass of local vino. My favorite way to explore a new-to-me area is on food tours. Food tour guides are typically knowledgeable about the local cuisine, of course, but also the area’s history. They know their neighborhood and the people that make it special. Rome is one of those amazing cities where you can eat your way through time with each area imparting a unique perspective. This neighborhood was new for me so booking a Prati food tour was top on my to do list. It was delicious, fun, and interesting. Andiamo!
