I was recently a guest of the Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun and I returned home well rested and well fed. My goal was to experience as many of the on-site restaurants as possible, and I enjoyed every sip and nibble.

The wide variety of restaurants at the Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun allows you to choose your dining experience for each meal. Late dinners and adult only venues are perfect for a quiet romantic dinner. Lively restaurants with kid friendly menus and early seatings are perfect for families.

Agave

Mexican Cuisine

I adore Mexican Cuisine, the bright flavors and spicy bites speak to me. Agave was one of the first restaurants I explored and it was one of my top favorites. The tacos were crisp with succulent fillings. The dessert trio was a divine sweet fix, the flan was silky and flavorful. It was the perfect end to the dinner fiesta.

The Cave

Local Ingredients – Global Flavors

Sadly, I did not get to dine at The Cave. It was on the top of my list, but it was closed on the night I could visit. I did poke my head in to get the essence of grotto dining. A delicately lit, cave-like ambiance can transport you to a grotto on the Amalfi Coast. I’m confident it would have been a wonderful date night dining adventure.

Italian Cuisine

Overlooking the beach, this open air restaurant is the perfect spot for a light lunch, a mid-day out-of-the-sun beverage, or a casual dinner. Italian comfort food at its best, whether it is pizza (which is excellent) or an authentic Italian plated dinner, the cuisine is deliciouso!

Hunter Steakhouse

Authentic Steakhouse

I love watching chefs work. In so many ways the open kitchen at Hunter Steakhouse is like watching a well-choreographed dance. Each meticulously prepared steak is a prize prop waiting to be delivered to a guest’s table.

The filet was perfect, just what you want in a decadent steak. I did find my sirloin was too thin — closer to a minute steak than a juicy sirloin. It was, however, well seared and tasty.

Ma Maison

French Cuisine

The adults-only Ma Maison serves inspired French cuisine. From rich lobster tails to hearty stews, you will find a selection of decadent dishes.

Ask for a seat by the window where the twinkling lights and pool views below add a romantic ambiance. The food was lovely and flavorful. The evening we dined, the restaurant was quiet and relaxing.

RIO

Brazilian Grill

When it comes to meat, meat, and more meat, Brazilian grills are king. Rio offers classic Brazilian table service with plates of succulent pork, grilled, sirloin, and more. Sit back, relax, and enjoy as the food comes to you.

Diamond Club Breakfast At Rio

Diamond Club guests have exclusive access to breakfast dining options at Rio. Enjoy a wonderful selection of breakfast options served in a relaxed atmosphere without a crush of other guests.

Smoke BBQ

Southern American BBQ

I was sorry I missed the BBQ Brisket Nachos at Smoke BBQ. So many restaurants to choose from if we dined in all of them, we might have had to spend the rest of our time working off all the delicious calories.

Taj

Indian Cuisine

The bright and beautiful Taj restaurants serve up indulgent dishes like Butter Chicken and spicy curries. Their Biryani is a delicious interpretation of this classic rice dish. If you love Indian inspired cuisine, reservations at Taj would be a great plan.

Gourmet Marche

International Buffet

Reservation free dining at Gourmet Marche fits into your schedule — whatever that may look like. Rich and decadent or clean and healthy, you will find every dining style represented. The most family friendly on property restaurant, Gourmet Marche is the goto spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Signature Royalton restaurants offer service stations where you can sample dishes from the various dining venues. It is a fun way to explore the specialty restaurants you want to try later.

When you are vacationing with kids, variety is king, Gourmet Marche has something for even the pickiest traveler. Additionally, buffet service is quick and you can be back out to the pool or floating down one of the lazy rivers as soon as possible.

Score Sports Bar

Pub & Grill

Perfect to enjoy an adult beverage or check on the status of your favorite team, Score Sports Bar is conveniently located near the center of the pool action. Twelve TVs continuously stream must watch sporting events as they happen.

The Winery

Chef’s Table

Classically elegant, The Winery offers a variety of sommelier led tastings. I enjoyed a Tequila Tasting and food pairing. I am not much of a Tequila drinker, however, walking through the different levels of Mezcal and Tequila, helped me appreciate the libations complexity.

If you love exploring wines or liquors, I highly recommend booking a tasting. It was an enjoyable and educational adventure through the spirit world.

Pro Tip: Tastings are not part of the all inclusive resort package.

ZEN

Teppanyaki and Japanese Cuisine

When you are traveling with a group — family or friends — dinner is the time to gather and revisit your fabulous day. Gather around the Hibachi table where your grill chef will entertain and delight you. Not only will you enjoy great food and an exciting cooking demonstration, bonding over a meal is one of the best vacation keepsake memories.

See if you gobble up a flying shrimp before it hits your plate!

CAFFE LOUNGE

The Cafe Lounge is a mid-meal snack venue. It is the spot for a cappuccino or espresso pick-me-up along with a fresh baked pasty to keep your coffee company.
